Stephanie is a Canadian, born and raised on a cattle ranch in Alberta. She is an accomplished equestrian rider but her appetite for adventure took her away from the farm 10 years ago. Her adventures have lead her to the bushes and beaches of Tanzania in east Africa where she volunteered as a research assistant and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, to the depths of the Pacific Ocean off Manzanillo Mexico, here she completed her PADI OWSI, eventually landing her on Little Corn Island in Nicaragua where she worked as a dive instructor at Dolphin Dive for 6.5 years Shortly after arriving on the island she met her husband Dariel, and the rest is history. Stephanie has also completed a 7000km+ , 7 country solo cycling and camping trip to raise money for a learning center on Little Corn. As well as being a Certified PADI Open Water Instructor she is also certified Wilderness Frist Responder and an Emergency First Responder Instructor. The idea for NiCana Adventure tours was developed from her desire to share the areas she has come to love and her love of adventure and nature with others and to also assist the native inhabitants in these remote regions. Dariel is a Garifuna native born and raised in Nicaragua between the communities of Orinoco and Little corn. He is a passionate about music and sharing his culture as well as his talents in the kitchen. Since meeting his wife Stephanie, he has developed a taste for adventures in nature. It was on a camping trip through Central America the couple did for there honey moon where the idea for NiCana was born.
